Street level is where it’s at
March 5th, 2008
According to Aral Balkan’s report on the FITC Amsterdam event, Ralph Heuwert a respected Papervision3D developer has been developing the Earthtime Geoweb 3D panoramic visual platform. Obviously this very similar to the previously mentioned offerings from Google. The geoviz industry is growing it seems.
And while I am on the subject Microsoft are about to take it to an entire new level, by allowing us to travel through parts of the universe with their World Wide Telescope project.
Watch the presentation on TED.
Blyk the free mobile service provider
March 4th, 2008
Blyk is a free mobile service provider that is funded purely by advertising. They offer a free connection with a monthly allowance of free texts and minutes to 16-24 year olds, is this the next level of adware?
This is an innovative step forward for the mobile advertising industry. Blyk provides their users with a valuable service and accurately defines a target market for their advertisers.
Can digital advertising offer the same rewards for civilians?
Or am I just referring to the Google business model?

Every day Google just seem to push the bar even further, a few months ago I was looking at some very experimental beta examples of an application that displayed a panoramic view from a car on the street with the ability to navigate down the street forward and backwards. Today I come across this. Is this the future of Google maps? To what extent could Google possibly map the earth?
Absolut machines
February 27th, 2008
Absolut vodka have commisioned Dan Paluska, Jeff Lieberman and Teenage Engineering to design and build a pair of machines that allow users to breathe life into the souls of their machines by interacting with the machines online. It is great to see such an inovative brand step into this realm of user interaction.
